Thaddeus Beier, Visual Effects Supervisor A twenty five year veteran of the visual effects industry, Thad is credited on more than thirty feature film and television productions. In 1995 he co-founded Hammerhead Productions where he spent fourteen years developing the company’s visual effects production toolkit and supervising visual effects on more than a dozen features including all four Fast & Furious movies. Prior to that Thad was an Animator and R&D Manager at Pacific Data Images and a software developer at Silicon Graphics. He has consulted for studios including Universal, Walt Disney Feature Animation, Cinesite and Sony Pictures Imageworks. In 1999 he received a Scientific and Technical Achievement Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (AMPAS). Thad started his career as an Animator at the New York Institute of Technology working on the development of early digital effects systems. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and is a member of the AMPAS Science and Technology Council as well as their Visual Effects Award Steering Committee.
