--- Begin Message --- Hello all,

The Office of Special Program at the College of Engineering is looking for volunteers for the FIRST Lego  Robotics competition.  FIRST - For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology - is an  international program (www.usfirst.org) to promote science and technology in young students.  Students (9 to 12 years of age) participate in the Lego robotics competition which uses Lego Mindstorms  kits.  (See http://www.usfirst.org/jrobtcs/flego.htm.)  The teams began working in September and the competition concludes with a regional competition at the Siebel Center for Computer Science on December 10 with the top tier of teams advancing to the state competition in Arlington Heights in January.

Engineering students are needed to help on different capacities such as Master of Ceremonies, Competition Referees, Time keepers, Audio-visual set ups, Pre-registration, Tours, Technical Assistants, and Set up.

We are also looking for students interested in volunteering as judges (Technical, Research and Teamwork).

If you would like to volunteer, please email. Minosca Alcantara @ coe-outreach@xxxxxxxx

Thanks so much for considering this volunteer activity.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
