QA Software Engineer (Network Software)

Riverbed Technology is the pioneer in wide area data services (WDS), a fast-growing product category that solves the problems of latency and bandwidth that plague a wide variety of applications over distributed networks. Our Steelhead appliances provide the highest level of WAN performance at a lower cost, reducing WAN traffic by up to 95% and accelerating applications by up to 100 times. We're looking for talented people, who have a passion for creating innovative products, to join our team in Urbana, IL.

We're looking for Quality Assurance Software Engineers to design and implement test plans, test programs and scripts with an emphasis on performance validation for Riverbed Technology products.  We believe that delivering a quality product requires an investment in good software tools and automation, and we want to hire people who share this belief.

Tasks

• Develop execute, extend, and analyze performance, stress, and system integration testplans and automation
• Test the performance of newly-supported applications and protocols
• Test the performance of various network integration scenarios
• Test the performance of various software configuration permutations
• Extend performance testing automation framework

Skills and Qualifications

• Very strong TCP/IP networking
• Strong Perl, PHP, Python, Visual Basic, or TCL scripting
• Strong experience with Unix/Linux
• Experience setting up various network devices (L4 switches, IP routers, SAN storage, HTTP caches, HTTP proxies, NAS storage, managed switches, etc)
• Experience with C/C++
• B.S. or M.S. in CS or EE preferred
