Dear Job Seeker:

Emagination Computer Camps, a leader in technology education for children since 1982, is currently recruiting staff to teach technology based courses to children ages 8-17.  We offer 25 different workshops including but not limited to RPG Game Design, Strategy Game Design, Action Game Design, Video Game Programming, C++, Java, Perl, Networks, Computer System Configuration, 3D animation, 3D character Modeling, Flash, Web design, Lego robotics and RC Cars.  Please visit our website at www.computercamps.com for more information.

Currently, we are recruiting students who are interested in summer employment and have a passion for both technology and working with kids.  We have locations for this program in Lake Forest, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta.  All positions are paid and include room and board for the duration of employment.  We will also work with you to help you meet the requirements of your internship.  Open positions include instructor, lead game design instructor, network administrator, lifeguard, and program coordinator.  Historically, we have had 5-6 UofI students on staff each summer.  I myself am a 1999 UofI graduate.  I began working with this company the summer after my junior year and am eager to share this opportunity with current students.  This is an excellent opportunity to share your knowledge and to network with peers who share your interest and passion for technology.

In addition, Emagination Game Design, www.emaginationgamedesign.com, is currently recruiting 4-6 lead designers to assist development teams of 4-6 teenagers develop the skills to create a playable video game and then guide them through the process beginning with the design document and ending with presentations of their games to industry professionals.  This is an excellent opportunity for students and/or professionals to diversify their portfolio, network with others in the industry and share their knowledge with aspiring game developers.  I am contacting you to request your assistance in notifying your students about our employment opportunities.

The lead designer positions are seasonal, full time and residential.  Qualified candidates must be willing to relocate to Waltham, Massachusetts and live on site at Bentley College for their term of employment which would be June 19-July 22, 2006 (5 weeks). Positions are paid and include room and board.  We are offering a competitive salary that will be determined based on experience and skill set.  We will be using FPS Creator, 3D Canvas Pro (both from The Game Creators), Adobe Photoshop and audio freeware for the program.  Qualified candidates are not required to know these software packages but must be willing and able to develop proficiency prior to the beginning of the program.  They must however have knowledge of the game design industry and experience creating a video game on a development team or equivalent experience.

Emagination Game Design is a pre-college summer program for 16-18 year olds who are interested in video game design and development!  Using sophisticated game design software, teens learn key technical and creative components of video game design including design and function, programming and the creation of 3D graphics, music and sound effects. After learning basic skills, and under the direction of a Lead Designer/Instructor, participants join a Development Team. Team roles include Graphic Designer, Audio Artist, Level Designer, Programmer, Story Writer and Game Tester (everyone is a Game Tester!). The team then uses a Design Document to build a playable video game. Teens put their skills and creativity to work and learn team building, time management and group dynamics----all while developing a game.
