ideas for software or web ventures. iventures10 is a 10 week program
which provides up to $25,000 in funding for a team of two to four in
return for a 5 to 10% equity stake in your new company. In addition,
IllinoisVENTURES will help out with the initial paperwork and provide as

Software Engineer:
Cerner's Software Engineers are instrumental in the development and
support of Cerner's leading edge clinical and management information
systems. Software Engineers are responsible for fully understanding user
requirements, providing input to functional design, developing
applications, testing systems, and troubleshooting across Cerner's
entire family of solutions. To accomplish their work, they use a variety
of languages, including Java, Visual C++, Visual Basic, C++ and SQL
using Oracle databases.
 
Requirements:

Description:
Decision Support is a high-energy, customer-focused team of business,
data, and technical experts who manage the Data Warehouse environment
for the University of Illinois. Decision Support is looking for an
outstanding individual to fill a key Application Developer position for
the 2008 spring semester. The developer will assist with the development
and maintenance of web applications using ASP, ASP.NET, and Oracle. The
position is located at the Champaign-Urbana campus and reports to the
Technical Architect.

Candidates must: be pursuing a degree in information systems, computer
science, mathematics, management, or other analytical field; demonstrate
competence in ASP.NET, SQL, HTML, and CSS; have experience with PC
environments as well as designing, developing, and maintaining websites
and database systems; and have strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Additional desired qualifications include experience with: bluestem
authentication, creating applications in ASP.NET using Visual Studio,
relational databases (preferably Oracle), source control systems (e.g.
Visual Source Safe), Macromedia Dreamweaver, graphics creation and
manipulation software (e.g. Photoshop or Fireworks), and PHP
development.

This is a student employee position for approximately 20 hours per week.
