We are looking for Research Assistant who will help with Citation
Networks project and maybe you could share this announcement among the
members.  The goal of the project is to create a network of articles
which would later be sorted according to search: keywords, topics,
number etc. It has a great potential to provide important insights about
the Engineering scientific community based on quantitative findings.
That being said, we need help with creating databases of those 1000
articles, analysis of software, machine learning, how to analyze paper
using software etc. This is a very flexible part time job for students
with an opportunity to continue the project during the summer and
receive a recommendation from one of the best Industrial Engineering
professors.

Job Description: The student internship will be part of the Research
Park staff team and will manage the back end of the Research Park web
sites in addition to developing WordPress sites for clients. Other IT
projects may be assigned as needed.

 This internship is designed to be both educational and practical, by
applying theory to real-world applications in a professional setting.
At Research Park students will have the opportunity to drive and take
ownership of meaningful projects, have high impact work, own decision-
making ability, as well as collaborate and network with high-level
executives. Students should have the ability to work independently as
well as with other students on group projects.

 Qualifications:

 Must be enrolled as a University of Illinois student

 Computer Science or Computer Engineering student strongly preferred

 WordPress experience required

 Drupal experience strongly preferred

 Demonstrates attention to detail

 Demonstrates ability to work on tight deadlines

 Works well under pressure

 Demonstrates ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects

 Must be customer-service oriented

 Project management and/or consulting experience preferred

 Website design experience preferred

Reporting: Position reports to the Director of Research Park and IT
Manager.

 Timing: Student is anticipated to work approximately 10-15 hours per
week during the academic year, and full-time in the summer (if
applicable).

 Compensation: Hourly wage will be $12-14.00 per hour based on
experience and will be paid by the University of Illinois.

Description:
The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) is posting an opening
for the position of Software Development Intern. This is a paid
internship expected to start in the Fall of 2013. Applicants should be
comfortable with object oriented design, software design patterns,
unified modeling language, relational databases and SQL.  They should
have a basic understanding of computer networks and be comfortable
working with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.

Applicants will gain experience with a wide variety of technologies on
the .NET Framework including Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows
Communication Foundation, and ASP.NET MVC. Applicants will also gain
experience with front end web development.

Responsibilities may include assisting with software development,
software documentation, assisting with software architecture, assisting
with network administration tasks, and other responsibilities as
assigned.
