I am sorry to say that Mr. Benjamin is, well, just wrong.  But thank you
for playing.

As a part of the Conference this weekend, we will be giving tours of the
NCSA Smart Room located on the fourth floor of Beckman.

This area has a number of neat demoable applications, many of which
explore the frontiers of interface design for vastly different display
formats.  The Access Grid, running on a 40 screen tiled display wall
forces us to develop applications which, while providing a huge amount of
information, must also organize and display that data for quick
interpretation.  Other forms of displays avaialble include off size
personal displays and a passive stereo display wall. The smart room also
has an implementation of active space technology using RFID badges.

We will be running tours of the Smart Room much of the day Saturday, from
10-4 or so.  Stop by the ACM office in 1320 DCL during the day to get more
information and sign up for a tour!
