JOB DESCRIPTION:
We currently have an opening for an experienced User Experience (UE)
Engineer to join our User Experience team to develop highly usable
interfaces to web-based, data intensive, J2EE applications. The UE
Engineer
will:
· Work with Business Analysts, Product Management, Developers,
and QA
team to design, develop and unit test the web-based applications.
· Facilitate meetings with business users and client-facing
teams to
understand our user's needs, utilizing various field research
techniques to
perform preliminary inquiry;
· Work closely with other User Experience team members to
maintain
consistency in design standards.
· Communicate with development team to evangelize UI design
directions
and resolve design trade-offs and implementation issues.
· Provide leadership and ownership of multiple projects, and
manage
priorities and deliverable deadlines.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL OFFER US....
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Human Computer
Interaction or a related discipline or equivalent job experience and a
minimum of five years UI design and development experience with at
least
three years experience developing user interfaces.
· Demonstrated proficiency in: HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, XML,
XSL, CSS,
and
design tools including Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, etc.
· Demonstrated understanding of information architecture,
navigation
and the Human Factors that constitute optimum user experience and
usability
of an enterprise business application.
· Expertise in user interface design including building
navigation,
page-level design, prototyping and conducting usability testing.
· Proven history of producing and maintaining detailed
documentation
through comprehensive and structured configuration control.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the
ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical
management.
· Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively
within a
team environment.
· Experience working in a corporate, transaction based systems
environment in either the financial; telecommunications or retail
industry
preferred.
