First off, I got upset with C# and Mark suggested Java. I agreed with mark, so lets do it in Java.
Dan Sledz agrees with Mark. HAHA (Does anyone know what I am refering to?)
We've come up with a simple single page, multi-tab layout, pics to come The list of features we want are as follows: Announcements/Meetings Calendar Database of people Caffeine info Tunez info Web cams Maps cluster info trade wars log Pinball stats
I think we should hold on working on the caffeine, people db, and pinball stuff until a unified database design is created and all the data is merged. This should happen once the new website is done. I'd hate to design stuff and then have everything change. also, it should be much easier to deal with once all data is merged into a single source.
I will volunteer to do the Trade Wars log, if someone can teach me how to do GUI stuff. I've only done console based or daemon (Tomcat) based programs in Java.
I can also do the cluster info, depending on what it needs to do. I've always wanted to write an rwho and ruptime client that will run on windows. Now I can.
Would we want to use Java 1.5? I think it was a released recently and I can get an updated version installed on the SIGCHI machine (as well as the ACM machines.)
