Hello, world.
For those of you who haven't been to meetings recently, we've been
working on setting up a test network modeling the ACM cluster. Chris
Clausen gave a talk about the ACM network on Monday. Our first machine
is running Solaris-x86 and will ultimately become a Kerberos KDC.
We just got pkg-get working on it, so installing new packages off
sunfreeware.com is a matter of "pkg-get install <package name>"
If you get time during the week, go ahead and install some more stuff on
the box. It's on the ACM internal network, so when you login to an ACM
machine you can ssh to 10.0.10.102 and if you were there when we created
accounts, you can login as your netid (we changed it from first names).
Email the list if you're going to be at the ACM office for a few hours
to work on the machine... maybe some other people can come join you.
See you all next Monday if not earlier!
