SigCAS Update

by Ben Gross
SigCAS is a "forum for computer specialists, those in related fields and public at large to gather and report information, exchange ideas, and arouse concern about impact of computers and society. The main concern is ethical and philosophical implications."

SigCAS has had two enlightening meetings so far this semester. Our discussions have included topics such as encryption, the status of intellectual property on the net, ethics in system administration, and privacy in email. Each meeting, members bring in recent news articles and net.clips to rant about or to discuss. So stop by during the next meeting and bring any nifty ideas, articles, and friends, etc., with you. Meetings are Thursday evenings at 5:00pm in 1102 DCL.
