SigSoft Update

by Alan Braverman
Rumors are spreading like a Luke Nosek fork bomb all over DCL about that much-talked-about vaporware tallyho adventure, Realms of Darkness. ROD is a multi-user, networked, fantasy adventure game, whose purpose is to prevent D&D fans from ever studying again (networked D&D fans, that is).

Originally designed as a Macintosh application, we are moving ROD to the world of Unix running the X Window System. C programmers interested in a real-time, high speed, animated, information superhypeway, slash-'em-up killer experience should bring their pocket protectors to the ACM office this Wednesday.

Other SigSoft projects for this semester include an enhanced version of the "talk" command for X and VT100 environments; and other games and utilities for several platforms. New members are welcome at all meetings; programming experience is not required. Meetings are Wednesdays at 6pm in 1102 DCL; we usually gather in the ACM office beforehand.
