First of all, to all Slovakians, SIGArt would like wish a very special Anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising on August 29th!! SIGArt is the Slovakian Immigration Group Advocating Revolutionary Thoughts, and our new Grand Pubah this year is Jakob Metzler, of the Bundesrepublik (may their monarchy die in flames!)
Firstly, we need to announce that our new pseudonym for the year. We will be going by the moniker "Special Interest Group in Artificial Intelligence." Ha! These bourgeois anti-revolutionary students at this capitalist school of UIUC have no idea what intelligence is! But I digress.
Ostensibly, we will be working on several "projects" this year in order to hide our true purpose, advocating concepts and ideas contrary to the establishment.
CLAIRE - this was our facial detection and emotion recognition system, which took first place in our category at the Engineering Open House last year. We will be demonstrating this program at one of our first meetings.
Finger mouse - We will be using the vision-based concepts that we learned last year to develop a mouse that can be operated with one finger and a web cam. This is primarily for people whose other 9 fingers tend to be doing other things.
Shadow boxer - This is a surprise! We're very excited about this project, which involves a lot of recognition and real-time processing. Salivating yet? Get involved!
Unreal tournament Bots - We're looking for people interested in either coding some AI-based bots to kick @#$%! in unreal tournament, but also some folks with a deep math background to do some original research on applying time-based neural networks to the problem.
