Hello all future SIGNet members! I say that because there are only about 5 previous active members including myself. So hopefully you will come to the meetings and bring friends. This year we plan to do several things: For the beginners, there will be workshops on computer networks including TCP/IP, the OSI model, and network programming in either C or Perl. For those with some network experience, there will be classes offered to prepare to take the tests for CISCO certification. For network gurus, we have a project from NCSA to code a super-fast TCP/IP Linux kernel driver that uses Myrinet 2.0 Gbps interconnects.
For details about any project, email us or check out the newsgroup or website. Hope to see you at our first meeting on September 10th.

SIGMil has been revived this year by new chairs Pavan Tumati and Mike Dabrowski. SIGMil is the ACM special interest group for embedded systems, computer security and all things related to military/warfare computing (hence the name.) SIGMil has a wealth of interesting projects lined up for this year, all of which you can be a part of if you attend our sig meetings. Check our website for further information.
