Hola Amigos! In a fit of confidence, MacWarriors has spawned not five, but *two* projects for this year's EOH! The projects are:
3DOSX
We plan to implement the first 3D filesystem browser that actually looks decent. It uses Objective C and OpenGL, and of course runs under OS X.
Card Login Authenticator
This will allow someone to sit down, swipe their SmartCard, and be automatically logged into an OS X machine. The idea exists to also do this for UIUC I-Cards. We'll see how far we get. We're always looking for assistance with coding, design, and our ever-important "sitting around and talking about whatever" sessions. Hope to see you at the next meeting!

Our first SIGBiz event, the Intern/Co-Op panel was a great success. We had a panel of very experienced interns who were able to answer all sorts of questions from students in the audience. There was plenty of sound advice to go around that benefited everyone from curious freshman to experienced seniors. SIGBiz also recently attended the annual Business Intelligence conference in Chicago on Oct 30. We learned a lot about the future of data mining and processing technologies that companies throughout various industries use to market their products. Data mining isn't just for Amazon.com and MS .NET, everyone from banks to grocery stores use information technology to improve their products and services. SIGBiz has moved on to regular weekly meetings on Monday nights. We are planning future events, tech talks, and a possible EOH data mining project. If you like what we have been doing and want to find out more, now is a great time to get involved with SIGBiz.

From the Editor By Chris Clausen
Since Top Four decided to write a column, I figured that the editor better do something similar. I don't have much to say, as you are reading what I spend time doing. Although I will ask what people think of the layout, design, and articles and that feedback be sent to banks@acm.uiuc.edu. It won't change without reader input.
Also, as you may know, that Banks welcomes articles, quotes, stories, jokes, or anything else (well, not SPAM) to be sent in for publication.
Enjoy this month's Banks! And remember to check the online version out too! (Its currently the same stuff, but that could change.)
