From the Chair... by Vilas Dhar
Welcome to another issue of the Banks!
With EOH only a few weeks away, things are really flying at ACM. With projects ranging from pure code client server protocols to robots controlled wirelessly by PDAs, this year's set of projects are shaping up to be some of the most diverse yet. As you look through the Banks, I invite you to contact the SIG chairs directly to inquire on the status of their projects and to see how you can get involved.
You may have also noticed significant improvements around the office. Thanks to all the hard work by ACM officers, the office has been reorganized to create the most productive environment yet seen at DCL. The ACM library is being revamped to allow easy access to one of the largest repositories of information for UIUC students. Our highly successful tutoring program is taking off for the spring semester (See the web page for details!), and we're lining up an impressive set of workshops and seminars for the next few months!
All in all, it is an exciting time in ACM. To get more details on what's going on, drop me an email at acm@acm.uiuc.edu. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Banks Website By Christopher Clausen
We are in the process of converting past issues of the Banks of the Boneyard to PostScript (PS) and Portable Document Format (PDF) to place on the website. If you have some free time and would like to help scan and convert, let us know. Send an email to boneyard@acm.uiuc.edu and we can arrange a time for some mad scanning.

ACM and Independent Project Board:
The ACM Project Board is up and ready! Situated next to the ACM office (1225 DCL!), this forum contains information about all current ACM research/design projects and provides information on how ACM members can get involved. The board also offers the opportunity for ACM members to independently enter a research/design project in EOH by submitting a simple form and having ACM handle the paperwork and EOH setup.
