Not even flying aluminum can hamper the spirits of these elite robot builders.  Intending to win the Jerry Sanders Design Competition, SIGBot has been building a robot over the course of the past several months.
The objective of this years competition is for teams to design and develop a robot capable of traveling throughout the course while two other robots do the same, to obtain the bowling ball and bocce balls, and then to place them on their respective stands in each teams home base.
There are 15 teams competing for more than $5000 in prizes from AMD, SIGBot will be up against teams with names such as: Diamond Skill 7, Yo-Ger , The Quantum Mechanix , 50% Duct Tape , and the Mad Misunderstood Evil Maniacs.

Laser Challenge

One hundred sixty cubic inches of gaming goodness in a purple case is the Nintendo Gamecube. Truly an impressive piece of hardware, it becomes even more impressive when removed from the purple case. This project analyzed and documented the  Gamecube's internals, and made minor modifications to the console's hardware. Unfortunately, due to proprietary, custom hardware designs implemented by Nintendo, some of this project's loftier goals could not be  achieved. Despite this, we have certainly succeeded in making the Gamecube if not more powerful, at least more educational.

SIGMobile has designed wireless, PDA controlled, laser tag robots. The system uses radio frequency transmission and 802.11b wireless networking for communication.
We've tried to make a game of laser tag that's not only fun, but gets kids interested in technology. The project combines many aspects of computer science and engineering.
Stop by the SIGMobile arena during EOH for a new twist on laser tag.
