IFV has completed some and is still working on several productions. With the help of our two cameras, the Sony DCR VX-1000 Mini DV Camera and Canon Optura Pi MiniDV Camera, along with our new and improved audio capturing capability complete with Shotgun Mic for Boom and XLR-PRO adapter for the Sony take XLR-type microphones, throw in a little Steadicam action and with the help of Final Cut Pro 3 and ACM for letting us use its resources, we're all set to go. All of the following films will make their debut at the IFV film festival on April 20th. The fest is from 3-7 PM at the Materials Science and Engineering Building room 100 located on green street. Of course it's for IFV (we are a non profit, registered student organizations). We'll be showing all student productions from commercials to shorts to longer dramas and comedies, and all submissions matching that description are welcome. John Claborn is organizing the show, so contact him about submissions claborn@uiuc.edu. For more information regarding the film festival, you can contact Andy McAllister at amcallis@uiuc.edu or check out the IFV website at www.uiuc.edu/ro/IFV.
Everyone, meet the current productions of IFV:
THE ARGUMENT- Written by Jay Tuley Directed by Jay Tuley Actors: Evan Dollard, Marissa Cabellero (?)
A short film about two friends (are they supposed to be friends, Jay?) and one argument and the lengths they go to in order to prove their point. Jay Tuley is actually a bit of a whiz with special effects, so he is using some new skills that he has learned to make this movie definitely unique.
A MOMENT SO CLOSE- Written by Jeff O'Kelley Produced by Chris Folkens Directed by Dan Thompson Actors: Nick Ferrin and Morgan Malone
Death is something distant, unreal. We all believe that there will be a tomorrow, that we will have time to set things right, that there will always be a future of limitless possibility. We are wrong. Faced with his own untimely death, Danny Parker comes to the realization that he never truly lived his life. Now he faces an enormous challenge - bridging the metaphysical gap between the dead and living, in an attempt to correct the mistakes of his past, and help another like himself break free of her self-imposed prison. In short, to appreciate every moment of life.
