SIGMil is up to several interesting projects. Our security lab is coming along well, excluding all the problems we had with the second network card in our firewall. A project that has interesting military applications has been started in various mil circles. Another idea for really cool project related to authentication is in the works and might be joint effort with some other SIGs (namely SIGArch). There were some security talks and kernel modules programming tutorial given by SIGOps' Dave Goodell. If anyone is interested in working on anything cool just come to our meetings.

Hey, hey, we're the Webmonkeys.
And people say we monkey around.
But we're too busy coding
To think of anything that rhymes.

We've been bowling. We've been skating. And we've even coded a little. The Webmonkeys have been doing it all.
Our EOH projects are under way: a web interface to U of I Direct, a class / professor rater for the entire university, a newsgroup reader, a study-group organizer, and several other projects including Something Big (tm).
We're always looking for fresh blood. Stop by a meeting.  If you'd like more information (or to schedule private tutoring), e-mail us. Everyone is welcome.
Fun activities for this upcoming month include: billiards, a bar crawl, and a movie night.

MacWarriors is working on several mini-projects including an LDAP capable address book that takes full advantage of campus LDAP and a utility that allows zero configuration access to the campus UIDirect for class registration when using Mac OS 10.2. The main project is a second release of 3DOSX, our renowned OpenGL file system browser (Featured on Slashdot and the ACM Crossroads publication.) Additionally, MacWarriors is planning either an Objective-C workshop or a programming in OS X using Cocoa workshop (using various languages) for this semester. General weekly meetings generally consist of discussing Mac-related events, and helping people with related computer problems. All are welcome, feel free to stop by to find out more.

SIGOps has been holding Linux kernel workshops/tutorials at many of our meetings and will likely continue to for at least a few more weeks. Besides that, we are currently investigating project ideas for EOH. Possibilities include device driver or perhaps file system work on an existing operating system. We are interested in any manner of OS related projects, so if you have something that you'd like to work on, bring it to a meeting and we'll talk about picking it up as a SIG project.
