Conference To
Take Over World
By Chris Mullen

It's official.  After a scrupulous investigation, an internal audit committee has found that that ACM Conference Committee is on-track to conquer the world.  Following the ACM Elections on April 9th, Chair Emeritus Vilas Dhar pointed out that the new executives-elect were all loyal members of ACM Conference.  Winners included MechMania programmers Don Schmidt, Andrew Lusk,  conference secretary Andy Washington, and Conference Network and Computer Admin Christopher Clausen.  This election follows the recent University Student Senate elections, where conference members took 5 of the 50 student seats, including Senate President.  A whopping 10% of the senate is now controlled by conference, up from 4% last year.  A conference member who wished to remain anonymous reported, "We anticipate having a senate majority within three years."  The source declined to comment on whether or not conference committee planed to run a candidate for Chancellor or President of the University.  However, the source did advise that, "Stukel is no match for the powers of conference."  Barring any major developments, the audit team expects to finalize their report later this week.

Congratulations!

to ACM members Tony Chang, Neil Drumm, and Sean Monahan for their performance at the ACM Intercollegiate Programming Contest World Finals in Los Angeles.  The team received an honorable mention for correctly solving two of the ten programming challenges.  Our contestants prepared for many weeks to conquer the problems posed.  Please join us in recognizing their outstanding achievement.

to ACM Exec members Dan Sledz and Amy Heinen for being voted Exec of the Year for 2002-2003.  Dan was instrumental in the development of the 2002 MechMania programming competition, ACM's Power Lunch program, all while being SIGNet chair and lead developer on the highly successful SIGNet project, Liason.  Amy has been one of our most successful social chairs, showing incredible organizational skill by handling regular movie nights and other social events.
