SIGMil is the Special Interest Group for Military Applications. We have a number of projects running at any one time, relating to computer security, kernel hacking, reverse engineering, intrusion "detection" techniques, wireless networks, cryptography, espionage ("countermeasures"), and other dark arts of the computer world. In short, we fight the man!
We're looking for motivated individuals. While it is not absolutely necessary that you are entirely knowledgeable in the above areas, the desire to become so on your own time is required. All members are required to give at least one tutorial over the course of the year on a topic they have learned.
In addition to tutorials and lab sessions SIGMil members are provided with access to a secure communications system with encrypted chat, a secure storage location, and our knowledge base.
Our meeting times are currently not set but SIGMil will have an introductory meeting after the ACM Open House (9/4). Meeting times will then be determined.

Fall Picnic
Saturday, Sept 6th
Come to our picnic, taking place from noon to 4:00 PM at the North woods Pavillion in Crystal Lake park. Directions can be found on the social page
(http://www.acm.uiuc.edu/social/), or there will be people meeting at the ACM office at 11:30am on Saturday to walk over to Crystal Lake. So come out
and join us for some grillin' & outdoor fun! It's a great way to meet people if you're thinking of joining or are new to the organization!

SIGNet is the Special Interest Group for networking and eating at Za's. We have several exciting projects planned for this semester, including a system for managing a large number of user connections using multicast. Our first meeting will be Monday, September 9th at 6:30 in the ACM office.
