SIGMobile is currently finishing up it's Pocket PC and Palm programs for the CS Department. These barcode and magnetic-stripe based inventory and mailroom programs are going to be used during the CS Department's transition from DCL to Siebel Center. With the money we earn, SIGMobile is buying equipment for our EOH-style projects. We have obtained a Tablet PC, which should make for some pretty cool projects. If you are interested in working on any of these projects, just want to learn, or have some cool new ideas, just come to our meetings. We will resume regular weekly meetings, starting Saturday Sept. 13th.

SIGArt is the Special Interest Group for Artificial Intelligence. If you are interested in writing programs that can reason, learn, plan ahead, and otherwise behave intelligently, then come to our meeting. New members and inquiring visitors are always welcome! Prior experience is not necessary, but enthusiasm and unquenchable curiosity are required.

The Special Interest Group for Computer Automation and Entertainment Technology is an experiment; a new SIG that touches on many of the interests of SIGs, and applies work done in human interface design, "smart" computing, automation, and show control technologies to build intelligent and entertaining environments and devices.  Currently we're investigating computer controlled lighting, ambient displays and networkable music systems.
For more information, and updates when we have our first meeting, subscribe to our mailing list.

SIGGRAPH, the Special Interest Group for Computer Graphics, is the place to be if you're interested computer generated imagery; whether you want to hack with Photoshop, make the next "Toy Story" or one-up Carmack with the next high-tech real-time engine, we've got something for you.  In past years, we've built real-time artistic rendering engines, tools for working with high dynamic range images, and a system for generating high-quality natural environments.  We also produce "Sounds & Visions", a cutting edge student animation festival yearly.
No experience necessary: every year we produce a series of tutorials on various aspects of graphics, including Photoshop, Maya, RenderMan and others. Hope to see you there!
