simulator. If you are interested in programming for Windows, Mac OS X, or Unix, check out SIGWin, Macwarriors, or SIGUNIX respectively, as they each get heavily involved in coding each year. Also improving last year's projects are SIGBot, SIGMobile, SIGBiz, and SIGGraph--all are looking for coding assistance. Those interested in mobile computing should check out SIGMobile, which is working with PocketPCs, or SIGCHI, which is writing software for tablet PCs and WACOM tablets. SIGBot is working on their robotic foozball table. SIGGraph is vastly improving Magrathea, their automatic planet-generation system. Join SIGBiz if you are interested in working with the NCSA on RFID technology. Check out the individual SIG updates on the following pages for more specific information!

ACM this year is off to a great start as far as project work goes. Whether driven by Engineering Open House or just a need to learn and gain experience with technical subjects, each SIG is coming up with project ideas, and several have started work already. However, it's not too late to join us! Projects are still just getting off the ground, and SIGs are looking for inspiration and help from new members. The range of projects being started up this year by ACM SIGs spans a great deal of software and hardware topics. SIGArch is modifying a pinball machine play itself. SIGMation is building a bubble wall that can display network traffic. SIGArt and SIGSoft are continuing their project from last year, a way to automatically generate storylines using keyframes, and software programs that implement that technology. Check out the posters in the ACM office for more information! SIGOps is in the beginning stages of writing an entire operating system, AlectOS, that will support USB input and multiple hardware platforms. Join them at one of their "deep hacks" on Wednesday nights (and Thursday mornings). Gamebuilders is working on three games, in addition to developing software for the Cube, a six-walled virtual reality
