The WebMonkeys are working to make sure that you eat well while online. While we cannot yet deliver pizza to your dorm room via TCP/IP (you wish!), we will do the next best thing by letting you order food over the web for delivery. While we are currently focusing on pizza delivery, the service can easily be expanded to other delivery items like sandwiches (did you hear that Jimmy John's?).
The project, cu-food.com, is a joint project of the WebMonkeys and SigBiz. We first put together a mock restaurant, Pizza Online (with a fabulous AOLesque logo) to test the software. Now, the visionary Flying Tomato Brothers of Garcia's Pizza have agreed to take the plunge as the first vendors on cu-food.com!
The WebMonkeys encourage anyone with an interest in developing for the World Wide Web to join us as we work to expand cu-food.com, start new projects, and hold workshops on web technologies both new and not-so-new. We love to hear new ideas for projects! So please join us! We currently meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM in 1225 DCL, but be sure to mail monkeys@uiuc.edu and ask to be put on the mailing list so you can get the latest info.
