Special Interest Group for Software Development

Who the hell are we? A bunch of programmers looking for ways to have fun fooling around as much as possible? Well, when confined to limited company and locales at odd hours (the only real hours) it's hard to do all the fun and exciting things you can do with your friends. Yeah, there's irc (if you're really feeling deprived) and lots of other dedicated game servers or networked shoot 'em ups. We've seen all that before.

This semester SigSoft is taking at-home gaming with your friends to another level: a virtual (please excuse the use of the "buzzword") card table. Not limited to just a few hard-coded games, it's just like sitting around a table with your friends. You can do whatever you feel like with the cards, including cheating (that is, until they catch you). That's right, you can play cards with your friends, like they were actually there (not over some dumb computer game) right from the comfort of your living room (or wherever else you have an X client).

You'll find these and possibly other projects at EOH this year. Whether you are interested in helping out on a project, or if you just want to learn how X programming works, what sockets are, or want to attend a programming or software workshop, you can just drop by one of our weekly meetings. They are held on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm in 1102 DCL. And if that wasn't exciting enough, you'll even get FREE PEZ. See you there.
