The Summit Group, Inc. is an organization which integrates computer hardware and software to provide customized information management solutions to a variety of industries. They serve as consultants to assist in the coordination of all phases of implementation from requirements definition, to installing the hardware and software, to training the appropriate personnel.

The Summit Group is looking for people pursuing a degree in Computer Science, with a strong academic background, solid computer programming skills, excellent communication capabilities, and a desire to work in the systems integration field.

The Summit Group seeks to identify and develop, through academic achievement and work experience, talented students with computer science skills and interests. Two $1,000 awards will be distributed. Applications for the Achievement Award will be evaluated during April, 1994, and the finalists will be interviewed during the last week of April. The two award recipients will be announced immediately thereafter.

The criteria for the award is as follows:

Academic achievement and extracurricular activities;

  • Must be qualified to graduate in December, 1994, or in May or August of 1995;
  • Deadline for application is April 1, 1994; and
  • Applications must include:
  • personal resume;
  • most recent transcript; and
  • detailed and specific essay of interest -- "Why I would be
  • interested in a career in systems integration/analysis.

    The ACM Central Illinois Chapter announces that student awards are available for students pursuing a Data Processing or related career. Multiple awards are available, and the maximum possible award is $325. Full or part-time undergraduate students with at least Senior status are eligible. Applications are available from Dr. Sylvian Ray in the Digital Computer Laboratory. The application deadline is March 9, 1994.
