The Be Users Group explores the possibilities of development on the BeOS.
Created by Be, Inc., the BeOS runs on today's PCs and
Macintoshes, and is designed primarily for multimedia creation. The BeOS is superior in
its programming interface, multiprocessor support, and modern OS features. These qualities
have inspired such projects as SoundMangler,
a real time digital audio filtering program which we demoed at Engineering Open House '98.
The Be Users Group offers workshops on BeOS programming, support for users and
developers on the BeOS, and plenty of exciting programming projects. We also host
representatives from Be, Inc. The Be Users Group is affiliated with the Association for Computing Machinery at the University of Illinois.
