
Christopher Horvath
Visual Effects Supervisor / Co-Founder, Tweak Films
Christopher Horvath attended the University of
Illinois at Urbana/Champaign, studying Mechanical
Engineering and Computer Science. Entirely by
accident, he traveled to Australia as an exchange
student and began looking for work as a computer
graphics artist.
He began his Visual Effects career working as a
digital artist and software engineer for Garner
MacLennan Design in Sydney, Australia. Christopher
then worked as a software engineer for Alias|Wavefront
as part of the Composer compositing software team. He
then moved to Industrial Light and Magic as a
technical director, where he helped create visual
effects for many films including Deep Impact, Star
Wars Episode 1, The Mummy, and The Perfect Storm. In
2000, he and Jim Hourihan left ILM to form Tweak Films.
As a Visual Effects Supervisor at Tweak Films,
Christopher has been awarded a Hong Kong Film Academy
Award for Tweak's work on the Zhang Yimou film Hero,
and has been proud to work on such films as The Lord
of the Rings: The Return of The King, both Matrix
sequels, and most recently The Day After Tomorrow.
