George Stathakopoulos
George graduated from Portland State with a BS in computer Science. He
joined Microsoft in 1991 and his work in security started in 1995 as the
Security Manager for Internet Explorer. In the nine years that followed,
George and his team were the front line for all major virus outbreaks
that targeted Microsoft platforms. His current position is the Sr.
Director of Security for Microsoft products. His team is responsible for:

Security response (Microsoft Security Response Center) producing the
Security Bulletins and coordinating response towards vulnerability
reports
Emergency Response dealing with the containment and cleanup of virii and
worms
Security Engineering (Secure Windows Initiative) tasked to oversee the
overall security of Microsoft products
Security Strategy working with various entities to certify Microsoft
products
