LUG@UIUC - Linux Install Workshop '99 - Prerequisites

What to Bring to Day 1:

• Computer that:
  • meets the redhat hardware compatibility list. If you want to install on a Mac or other hardware, let us know no later than Thursday, Oct 14th.
  • has at least 600 megs of space in an EMPTY partition. You MUST partition your drive before hand using FIPS, Ranish or partitionmagic, or be prepared to lose ALL YOUR DATA! If you use FIPS or Ranish, be SURE to run MS-DOS defrag first!
• Power cables, a monitor, a CDROM drive, and a keyboard.

What to Bring to Day 2:

• Your body
• Your brain
• A pad of paper and pen for notes

Be early on Day 1. We have free CD's, and they will go to the first ~35 people who are there and intend to install with us.
