UIDirect.app is a utility developed by the ACM-SIG MacWarriors, allowing U of I students and faculty to access UIDirect via the OS X (10.2 or greater) terminal with minimum effort.

UIDirect.app is a series of shell scripts that automatically configure kerberos and telnet (managing kerberos tickets and everything) to access the UIDirect system. This series of scripts have been combined into a native cocoa application (doesn't require an administrator account to install) that allows the user to simply type in their NetID, get prompted for their password, and use UIDirect like normal. Nothing else needs to be done, the kerberos config file gets updated on first use and kerberos tickets get destroyed when finishing a session.
