History

LaserLine 1.0

LaserLine 1.0 was released and demo'd at EOH 2005. There it won 2nd place in the theme category "Reinventing Reality".

The following was the description used back then:

Until now, laser visualization systems have been both expensive to purchase and extremely complicated to set up. The MacWarriors project is designed to address both of these issues. By using the standard audio output from computers, and an inexpensive scanner combined with software running on the computer, the MacWarriors project allows anyone to display simple graphics and animations with an ordinary laser pointer.

LaserLine 1.0 has now for most all purposes been abandoned (it has not been maintained). But the final build as well as source code access can still be found at http://www.acm.uiuc.edu/macwarriors/projects/laserline/

LaserLine 2.0

LaserLine 2.0 is currently in progress. LaserLine 2.0 will be a totally awesome professional grade laser show program, competitive to what Pangolin offers.

Our current plans are outlined on the Objectives page.
