Known Problems
The original production run of the sensor nodes for Professor Campbell had some problems. Here is a list of the ones we know about:
- Problem: Some boards give a "Code Programming Error at 0000" consistently when being programmed.
Workaround:These boards probably have bad solder joints on the ground pins of the 10-pin header connectors. This is because "thermal" pins weren't used for connection to the ground plane. Try resoldering the ground pins, but make sure the connections to the ground plane look good.
- Problem: Some solar panels don't deliver a high enough voltage to run the sensor in indoor lighting.
Workaround: Some panels have defects which prevent them from producing their rated voltage at low light levels. Replace them with other panels (Iowa Thin Film SP-37).
