Activities included a listening/show-and-tell session, a tutorial on Linux music software and Pure Data, and an EOH project: "In C".
"In C (in Python)" is a computer program that simulates a group of musicians playing "In C", the classic minimalist piece by Terry Riley. We have released the source code to this project.
EOH project: "Robotic Orchestra". We attempted to create a MIDI-controlled recorder quartet. Lessons learned: don't attempt to wire up a board for the PIC microcontroller from scratch -- just use something like the Arduino instead.
EOH project: "Turing and the Wolf". We wrote a computer program that automatically generates chord progressions to transition from one piece of music to another.
