Emersion is...

At first glance, Emersion is most simply a presentation hack for UNIX and X-Windows, much like KPresenter from KOffice. However, a closer look reveals that it is really something more. Its data abstraction is slides, like a presentation program, and its main purpose is to display text, images, gradients, rectangles, lines and polygons on the screen, but it has some extra features that take it from status of Presentation Hack to networked, extensible graphics abstraction layer for X. We're not just displaying slides, were displaying slides remotely and providing interactive control of the whole process through a Python scripting interface.
