Gnomon

Gnomon is our attempt to create a modular monitoring system for the Unix desktop, allowing users to spend less time checking up on email, updated webpages, network load, etc, etc. Using the Gtk (Gimp Toolkit) for our X interface, we plan to have a system which allows users to easily create their own data-gathering programs in a variety of languages, especially Perl, which would pass the information to Gnomon, allow a person to keep track of a large number and variety of events in a nice graphical format. Gnomon is based on the popular xload program for Unix and the Norton System Monitor for various Windows systems.
